answers. “Yes, how may I help you?” “May I have the rights to Harry Potter?”
“Sure.” Almost stops breathing. “Really?” “No.” Storms off but turns around.
“Harry Potter will one day be mine! You hear me? I will own Harry Potter and
his entire world!” Walks off screen. J. K. Rowling just shakes her head. “Why
do the crazies always show up here?”
I don’t own Harry Potter or anything in his universe. It is probably better
this way.

Prologue: What Are You Willing to Give?
The war had raged for 2 years once it had truly begun. Dumbledore had been dead
for less than a year when the Death Eaters had made their first real attack and
destroyed half of a muggle town. That was what had officially begun the war.
Draco knew better. He knew that Potter had declared war on Voldemort when he
refused to give Voldemort the Sorcerer’s Stone. He knew that his father had
declared war upon Voldemort when Lucius had slipped the diary into Ginny
Weasley’s cauldron Draco’s second year. He knew that Peter Pettigrew had
declared war upon the Light when he had helped nurse Voldemort back to health.
He knew that Voldemort had declared war on Harry when he had Diggory killed. He
knew that Dumbledore had declared war on Voldemort when he not only stood up to
him at the Department of Mysteries, but also destroyed one of Voldemort’s
horocruxes.
No the war had begun long before the attack on the muggle town. The war had
been secretly raging for years. No the only difference now was the fact that
there were real battles. Harry, Ron and Hermione had all destroyed all the
horocruxes. All except that blasted locket and Nagini. Draco had been accepted
into the small group when he had arrived at Grimmauld place with Hufflepuff’s
cup saying, “You might need this piece of Voldemort’s soul.”
They had tested him and he had been accepted and even trusted to help them
destroy the rest of the horocruxes. They had tracked down the other horocrux
and destroyed it but destroying it had been very difficult. It had taken them 5
months to brew the correct potions and perform the right rituals, but none of
them had been harmed.
Tonight they had gone into battle and now Draco was regretting it. His father
was safely in Azkaban and his mother hidden away, so he wasn’t worried about
hurting his family. Besides they had all turned away from Voldemort and would
have been killed on sight. No it was Harry he was worried bout. Harry had been
recklessly battling trying desperately trying to find Nagini to kill her.
Draco turned and sighed in relief. Harry was standing over Nagini, looking
triumphant. Nagini’s head was severed from her body. But Draco’s look soon
turned to one of horror as he saw a green light engulf Harry and his aunt laugh
manically over Harry’s body. Without thinking Draco killed Bellatrix and ran to
Harry.
Surprisingly Harry wasn’t quite dead and Draco hoped for the best, but as blood
stained Harry’s lips, Draco’s hopes fell. “Harry, no, damn-it!” He cradled the
Gryffindor to him. “You can’t die yet, not when we’re so close. All we have
left is the locket. And then we can all live happily ever after. Ron and
Hermione will get married and you and I will snipe at each other till the end
of days.”
Harry shook his head and Draco heard Ron and Hermione run up to them, the
battle apparently over. Voldemort had retreated and the Light had won this
battle, but none of that mattered to Draco. “I can’t Draco; I’m not going to
make it this time. You guys have to find the locket and kill that bastard.” He
laughed weakly, coughing up blood in the process. “I guess I couldn’t survive
the Killing curse twice.”
Harry began to cough even harder and Draco knew his time was running out. He
held on to Harry harder. “No, Potter. Don’t you dare do this to me, you wanker!
You live, damn you! You fucking live!”
Harry shook his head. “No, I can’t be The-Boy-Who-Lived-Twice. Not even I’m
that powerful.” Harry began to lose consciousness and Draco felt it.
“No, no, no!” He began to beat on Harry’s chest and Ron and Hermione restrained
him. None of them heard Harry’s final words. They both held his arms for a
moment and then released him when they heard his sobs. “No, no, no…”
They knew how close Draco and Harry had become in these past few years and it
wasn’t just because they lived together, because all four lived in Grimmauld
place. They became even closer than Harry and Ron had been. Harry, Ron,
Hermione and Draco were extremely close, but it was different with Draco and
Harry. They bickered all the time, but they knew each other better than any
other person. While they argued about simple things, they knew exactly how each
other liked their tea and would make each other cups without ceasing their
bickering. The first time Harry had murdered a Death Eater, Draco had asked no
questions when Harry arrived home with the others. He had simply gotten up and
hugged Harry, letting the Gryffindor cry on his shoulder. No words were shared
between them. No words were needed.
They didn’t need to ask when Harry died. Draco’s howl of pain was all they
needed.
----------~~~~~~~~~~----------
Draco did not acknowledge the new presence; he simply continued to rock Harry’s
body. Had he looked up he would have seen a beautiful woman. She was the most
beautiful to walk the earth, yet Draco ignored her. She was tall, about 6”1’.
Her skin was pale, almost translucent it was so pale, but she did not look
unhealthy. Her hair was silver, but she was not aged. Her lips were a very pale
pink and her eyes a very pale blue. She was elegant and her elegance was only
enhanced by her sliver gown. It clung to her, yet seemed to loosely fall around
her at the same time.
She spoke in a soft but commanding voice. “My dragon, why do you weep?”
He answered without so much as a glance at her. “Can you not see? He’s dead,
he’s dead.”
“Well, for a Malfoy, you have given up without much of a fight.”
He finally tore his gaze away from Harry’s face to glare at this woman. “How
dare you judge me, how dare-” His words became caught in his throat.
Ron looked at the woman and gasped. He immediately knelt and when Hermione gave
him a strange look her yanked her down with him. She looked even more confused
when Ron would not allow her to stand. She opened her mouth to complain, but
Ron hissed. “Not now.”
The woman looked kindly at Draco, only nodding at Ron’s actions. She knelt and
looked at Harry’s body. “Well, you’re right he is dead, but there may be hope.
His soul has not yet left his body. I might be able to save him. But there will
be a price.”
Draco looked at her, new tears beginning to form. “You could bring him back?”
He smiled at her, hoping beyond hope that she could. “You could give him life
again?”
Sadly she shook her head. “No. Not even I hold the power of life. You should
know that, my Dragon. I can however reverse this.” At Draco’s look of confusion
she explained. “I can bring the three of you back in time. Your consciousnesses
would remain there for only 24 hours. Then they would die and then you would
live your new lives.
“So no, I cannot give Harry life again, but you can change this so it never
happens. However,” She raised a hand. “This can only be done once. And you must
all give something of great value. I cannot simply change time without
payment.”
Hermione finally rose, shaking off Ron’s hands and warnings. “Who are you? No
mortal can change time.”
The woman smiled. “I am Luna, Goddess of the Moon. You, my dear, are being
offered a once in a lifetime chance. And without payment from all three of you,
this will not work. Time is running out. Harry’s soul is passing on. Once it
does, I can no longer help you. It his life we are trying to change so we must
do so while his soul is on this plane.”
Draco stood. “I will do it.”
Ron stood as well. “So will I.”
Hermione looked confused but nodded. “Anything to help Harry.”
The goddess smiled. “Wonderful, but what are you willing to give? I said it
before, and I will repeat it. I cannot simply send you careening through space
and time without a suitable payment. And what ever you give now, you shall lose
in your new life as well, so be careful.”
Hermione looked around her and finally spotted the tome she had found years
ago. She always carried it with her, it was priceless. It contained spells so
old they predated the founders. She looked at it longingly. Finally she spelled
it to its original size and offered it to the goddess. “This is my most
treasured possession. It is a tome whose spells are so old they predate
anything else I have found.”
Taking the tome, Luna nodded. “You shall find it and use it to discover how to
destroy the horocruxes then you shall lose it, never to see it again. Is this
acceptable?” When Hermione nodded she snapped her fingers and the tome
disappeared. She then turned to Ron. “What do you offer?”
Ron looked at his ancient, magical dagger, it was the most important thing he
owned, but knew it was not enough. He thought for a moment and then realized
what he could offer. “I offer my title, and all the riches and land that go
with it.” He had inherited a fortune and a lot of land from a distant relative
of his mother’s side. Apparently she had taken a liking to him.
The goddess smiled and nodded. “Yes that is acceptable. You will never inherit
your fortune or title.” Finally she turned to Draco. “And what are you willing
to give for this opportunity?”
“Anything,” Draco answered instantly. The goddess stared at him expectantly. He
could give up his fortune as well, but no. It wasn’t as important to Draco as
it was to Ron, who had always been poor. He could offer something physical, but
nothing physical had ever meant a damn to him. So what could he offer? Harry
was the most important thing in his life, and he couldn’t offer her Harry.
Never.
The goddess smirked at him. “It must be that which you treasure most Draco. You
most value Harry. Could you give him up? Could you never be a part of his life
if it meant he would live?”
The answer was instantaneous. “Yes.”
The goddess’s smile turned kinder. “Luckily, my dragon, you don’t need to. The
fates will not keep you apart, and I cannot fight fate. No it must be something
else.”
Draco nodded, instantly relieved. ‘But what else could I give? I need my magic
for the war, my money means nothing to me, and I have nothing physical that I
care that much about. There is nothing I can give.’ Suddenly it hit him. ‘No,
that’s not true. I do have one thing I can give.’
“My pride.” The goddess looked surprised. “I mean my being so prideful, my
being a pureblood. Make it so that there was a muggle or something in my
lineage.” When the goddess raised an eyebrow, Draco thought of something else.
“Take Haakon, my eagle owl.”
The goddess looked surprised. “Both?”
Draco nodded, satisfied with his offering. He summoned Haakon and handed her to
the goddess. She smiled at Draco. “Then since you offer so much, Haakon will
come back to you once he dies, in a different form of course.”
She smiled at them. “You have all paid. Hermione has paid with her tome, and
she will never be the most well informed witch. Ron has paid with his wealth.
He will never be rich or overly wealthy. Draco has paid with his pride. He will
no longer be a pureblood.”
She looked at them somberly. “You now must choose a destination. You can travel
to a day within your own life and change things from there, reliving a simple
24 hours. Or you may travel to another point in time and watch for 3 hours. You
may then travel to your own life and influence it for 6 hours.
“Any questions?”
“Can we write things down if we visit a time other than our own?” Hermione had
a thoughtful look in her eyes. When the goddess told her she could, Hermione
immediately began to pick where. Ron was trying to figure out when he would go
as well. Only Draco knew for certainty where he would go.
Luna looked at Draco’s expression. “What have you chosen, Dragon?”
“The day that I met Harry.” Luna looked surprised and then nodded.
Ron looked at Draco and nodded. “I choose the same. I want to go back to the
day I met Harry as well.”
They were surprised when Hermione chose to go somewhere else. “I want to follow
this mysterious R.A.B. and where he took the locket. Then I want to go to my
sorting.”
“Fine then. By the way the trip through time will take a bit I suggest you talk
about what you will do.” With that Luna began to prepare for their departure.
Draco walked over to Harry. Though his body was cold, Draco knew that Harry’s
soul was still in the body. “Hang in there Harry. We’re going to fix all of
this. We’ll fix all this and you’ll be alive. Then I’ll be able to beat your
Gryffindor ass for dying on me.”
He jumped when someone put a hand on his shoulder. Luna gave him a small smile.
“I have one last gift for the three of you, well,” She looked at Harry, “really
the four of you.” She gave them all crystals.
“Place the crystal to your heart and all of your memories will be put into
them, like a pensive. You won’t be able to access them until you’re old
enough.” She demonstrated on Harry. She placed the crystal on his heart and
suddenly his began to glow green. Soon the crystal was as green as an emerald
and Draco was sure it was now an emerald. It would probably remain one until it
was used.
Draco tried the process and his soon became a diamond, so it simply became
clearer and sharper. Ron’s was a ruby and Hermione’s was a deep sapphire. Draco
looked at the goddess and she held out her hand. They handed them to her and
she put them into a pouch.
“They will be sent to you when the time is right. Now all of you, hurry. The
time is right. They looked and saw that the sun had become blocked by the moon.
“It is the time when I am at my most powerful.” She looked at Harry who lay in
the center of the circle. “He will not last long as it is. We must go now!”
They all quickly stepped into circle. The goddess began to chant in a long
forgotten tongue and the circle began to glow. Soon, Draco found himself
falling, and looked and saw the others were falling as well. He turned and saw
Luna, Goddess of the Moon, The most beautiful woman to ever walk the earth
smiling at him. “Go, save him.”
And Draco would do just that. He would save Harry, and hopefully change the
future in the process.

***** Chapter 1: Draco’s Day *****

Author's notes: What will happen when Draco relives the day he met Harry?
===============================================================================
Gift of the Goddess
Disclaimer: Sneaks into J. K. Rowling’s house. Looks around and sees a document
under a glass case. Closer examination of the document shows that it is the
rights to Harry Potter. Lifts glass slowly and takes paper. “I’ve done it! Now
I own Harry Potter! I can control hat happens to him legally!” Cow floats by.
The cow stops and looks at me condescendingly. “Not even in your dreams.” The
paper disappears. I wake up. “No!”
Seriously. Let’s think about this for a moment. If I owned Harry potter and his
fantasy world, would I be writing measly fan fiction? I think not.

Chapter 1: Draco’s Day
Draco woke up on July 31, in his old bed. He looked around confused until he
remembered the events of the battle and meeting the Goddess. He looked at the
clock and saw that it was only 7:00 in the morning. He had met Harry in Madam
Malkin’s shop shortly after 10:00. That gave him 3 hours to write down the very
important events that he wanted to warn himself about and to check and see what
had been changed due to his new muggle ancestry.
Draco quickly got a quill, ink and parchment. He began to write down everything
very important that had happened from his first year until the war. He detailed
his 6th year and wrote down that he had to talk to Dumbledore at the end of 5th
year. He couldn’t allow the man to condemn himself by destroying the ring in
such a manor. He had seen how much Harry had suffered from the old man’s death.
He quickly finished and looked over it carefully satisfied that it was
complete. He made a copy and his it in his secret hiding place: in the binding
of his copy of Quidditch through the Ages. He also wrote himself a note to look
at the paper and study it. He looked at his watch. It was now 7:45. He had to
work quickly. He ran to the Malfoy library and looked at his lineage. He was
astounded when he found no muggles, but instead found a Veela, a vampire and a
werewolf. The werewolf was actually pretty far back, it was his great-great-
great-great-great grandmother, and the vampire was also a bit distant, his
great-grandfather was half vampire. The Veela was his grandmother though.
Draco had no muggles in his history, but his lineage was not pure at all. One
of there creatures may have been overlooked, but the Goddess was thorough.
Three was unacceptable, especially as the Veela was so recent. However this
would strengthen his magical powers greatly. Interesting. Even through his
sacrifice the Goddess was helping him. ‘Well when one door closes another
opens.’
Draco looked at his watch and realized it was 8:45. He had to go shopping soon
and he still had to get dressed. He ran back to his room and racked his brain.
Harry liked the deep rich greens that were always associated with Slytherins,
and he always said that Draco looked like a brat with his hair gelled. Draco
quickly picked out a suitable outfit. It wasn’t overly formal, but not too
casual. And it didn’t make him look stuck up.
He took a look in the mirror and smiled. Even though his hair was short it did
look better loose. He ran downstairs and met his parents. His father smiled at
him. “Ready to go, Draco?” At Draco’s excited nod, his father laughed. “Well, I
can see you’re very excited to go and get your school supplies.”
‘If only you knew what the real reason was father, if only you knew.’
----------~~~~~~~~~~----------
He had told his parents that he wanted to spend the day with them, but that he
wanted to get fitted for his robes alone. Draco said that it would be good for
him to learn to handle things on his own as he was going to Hogwarts soon. Of
course this wasn’t the real reason, but Lucius and Narcissa didn’t know that.
So everything happened as it should have. Right as Harry entered the shop he
was being fitted for his robes. Relief spread like a drug through Draco. Harry
was alive! It worked, Harry was alive! Draco wanted to run and hug the boy, but
knew this was neither the time nor place. Draco took a deep breath. ‘I have
only one chance at this.’ ‘Well, one more chance at this.’ Another voice inside
his head told him. ‘Very true.’ He reasoned. Focusing on the task at hand he
turned to Harry.
“Hi, I’m Draco Malfoy. Nice to meet you.” Harry looked at his from under his
bangs and smiled shyly.
“I’m Harry Potter.”
Draco nodded not acknowledging Harry’s fame. “You seem a bit nervous, is this
your first time in Diagon Alley?”
“Yes. Actually it’s my first time in the Wizarding World. Is it that obvious?”
Harry sounded ashamed.
Draco smiled at the boy, trying to encourage him. “Well yes, but that’s not a
bad thing. A lot of kids come from muggle families. They’ve never known of this
world and it shows, but it’s not a bad thing. It just means you need help
learning about our world. It’s completely new to you.”
Harry looked up, seeming to be pleased by Draco’s words. “I really do someone
to explain it all to me. I mean Hagrid’s wonderfully nice, but he seems to
forget that I don’t know anything about this world.”
Draco suddenly got a great idea. “Why don’t you and I stick together for the
rest of the day, and I’ll explain everything I can to you. Maybe you can even
stay over at my house or something.”
Harry seemed delighted by the idea. When Madam Malkin told him that he was
done, He simply moved over closer to Draco still asking questions and having
fun with his new friend. When Hagrid came into the shop looking for Harry,
Harry immediately ran up to Hagrid and pleaded to stay with his new friend.
Hagrid looked at Draco suspiciously, but allowed Harry to stay with Draco.
Lucius and Narcissa came to collect their son but were surprised when they
found he and Harry Potter had become fast friends. Harry and Draco soon went on
to Flourish and Blotts, the book store. There they found some strange and
interesting books but the entire time Draco and Harry continued to talk and
become closer.
“Hey, Draco, what is it like at Hogwarts?” Harry asked as they were trying to
find their Defense Against the Dark Arts books.
“Well, from what I hear, it’s a lot of fun. There are four different houses:
Gryffindor, which are the noble and the brave, Hufflepuff, the loyal and just,
Ravenclaw, the wise and intelligent, and Slytherin, the cunning and
mischievous. Of course, there down sides to all the houses as well.” Draco
paused and took a deep breath. “Do you want to know about them? I mean one of
them will eventually be your future house.”
Harry nodded. “I want to know everything I can about all of the houses.”
Draco took a deep breath and continued. “The Ravenclaws are so involved with
their studies they alienate themselves from both the school and each other. The
Hufflepuffs tend to be wimps. They may be loyal and just, but they have no
backbone unless one of their friends is in danger. Gryffindors see themselves
for what they truly are, noble and brave, but they form prejudices and rarely
ever let go of them. The Slytherins are seen as evil because a lot of dark
wizards have come out of there, but they also alienate themselves. Mostly
because of their tendencies for revenge and the fact that everyone looks down
at them.”
Harry looked at the ground for a moment trying to absorb all of that
information. “So The Hufflepuffs are just and loyal, but no one pays them any
attention. The Ravenclaws are super intelligent, but they don’t really talk to
anyone else. The Gryffindors are noble and brave, but a bit full of themselves
and pigheaded. And the Slytherins are looked down upon and are very cunning,
usually getting revenge. Does that about sum it up?”
Draco laughed and wrapped his arms around Harry’s shoulder. “You are very
astute. Perhaps you’re a Ravenclaw.”
Harry laughed with Draco as they got to the register to pay for their books.
They next got their cauldrons, scales and telescopes. When Harry asked
nervously about potions, Draco laughed and assured him that he could help Harry
with potions if Harry had trouble. When Harry asked what was funny Draco just
told him that Harry had reminded him of a joke. Harry smiled and seemed to
accept this.
Lucius, Narcissa and Hagrid were all astounded at the boys’ friendship. They
had expected them to be enemies, yet here they were become best friends. Hagrid
turned to Lucius. “Malfoy,” he growled, “if this is some plot to ‘urt ‘arry,
I’ll murder you. Go it?”
Lucius looked at Hagrid shocked. “I had no idea this would happen. Though I
guess it is a good thing. If Harry and my son become friends then I’ll never
have to worry about my son ever taking the Dark Mark.”
Hagrid rounded on Lucius. “Waddya mean? You-Know-Who is gone.”
Luicus looked Hagrid straight in the eye. “If you think that the Dark Lord is
gone, then you are more of a fool then I think. He may be incapacitated, but he
will return. And I fear that the day when he will is soon approaching.” Lucius
quietly watched his son and Harry Potter play together.
“No I fear that the Dark Lord’s day is quickly approaching. And this friendship
may be Draco’s way out of a life I never wanted for him. A life I never wanted
for myself.”
Hagrid looked at Lucius for a moment and nodded. “Alright, Malfoy, I believe
ya.”
Meanwhile Draco and Harry had found the Quidditch store. As they looked at the
brooms, Draco explained the game to Harry. He explained all the positions also
noting that being on a broom was the most exhilarating feeling ever. “You have
to try it soon Harry. It’s brilliant.”
Harry looked down at the ground, ashamed. “I’ll bet I’m pants at it.”
“Nah, you’ll do fine. My Godfather, Severus, always talks about how James
Potter was a natural and how flying seemed to be in his blood. I’m sure you’ll
be fine. It’ll probably be instinct to you.”
Harry smiled at the compliment. He was finally beginning to believe in himself,
with loads of encouragement from Draco. They looked at the Nimbus 2000 and they
both daydreamed. Harry daydreamed of riding it, while Draco daydreamed of Harry
and their friendship. Soon though their stomachs were growling and they begged
to be fed. All the adults smiled and they all sat down to lunch. While Harry
eagerly explained everything he had learned in the past few hours to the
adults, Draco smiled inwardly.
‘I’ve managed to make him my friend in one afternoon. This has to change the
future, but even if it doesn’t Ron and Hermione still have their chances.’
Draco was satisfied that he had sufficiently changed the future, and was
looking forward to spending the rest of the day with Harry.
Harry finally got a look on his face and turned to Draco. “Do wizards believe
in God?”
Draco looked confused. “Of course we believe in the Gods, why?”
“There’s more than one?”
“Oh, you were talking about that Christian religion. No, we don’t believe in
him. We believe in the Gods of nature. There’s Sol, the Sun God. He reigns over
light and destruction. He’s a bit violent if you ask me. Next is Terra, Goddess
of the Earth. She represents the element of Earth, strength, and growth. Ignis
is the God of Fire. He represents passion, power and of course the element of
Fire. Aqua is the Goddess of Water. She represents the element of Water,
knowledge and change.
“Ventus is the God of Wind. He represents the ability to see things in another
light, cunning and, you guessed it, the element of Wind. There’s Vis God of
magic. He’s the God of magic and of life. And then there’s my favorite, Luna
the Moon Goddess. She’s the Goddess of darkness and healing; she’s kind and
gentle and helps those who need it. Together the Seven of them make up the
Deus, or the Gods.”
Harry listened quietly trying to understand all of the information he was
absorbing, but Draco smiled kindly at him. “It’s alright. It’s a lot to take
in, especially in one day. Relax. If you have any questions or if just want to
talk, you can owl me.”
“Owl?”
Draco slapped his forehead. “I forgot to tell you didn’t I? We use owls to
deliver our post. I keep forgetting that you don’t know anything about the
wizarding world. I’m a horrible friend.”
Harry shook his head. “No, you’re a wonderful friend, and a great guide. It’s
not your fault that I don’t know anything about this world. A lot of the stuff
you don’t notice anymore is all new to me, that’s all.”
Hagrid stood up suddenly. “Blimely, ‘arry, I still haven’t gotten you a gift
yet!”
Draco looked up sharply. “Gift?”
“It’s ‘arry’s birthday!”
Draco smiled. “I’ll get you a gift then too. You are my friend now.”
Shyly Harry shook his head. “You don’t need to, I never get anything anyway.”
He quickly clamped his hands over his mouth.
Draco’s jaw fell open, along with his parents’. Of course Draco knew all about
Harry’s horrible childhood, but refusing a present? That was just plain wrong.
“I don’t care; I’m going to get you a gift anyway.”
Harry tried to say that it was alright, but one look from Draco shut him up.
Draco nodded, satisfied. “Good, now that that’s settled, why don’t we get our
wands?” Hagrid went off to get Harry a present and The Malfoys mentioned
something about a gift as well so the boys went into Ollivander’s alone. The
man took one look at Draco and smiled.
“Well, well, well, Mr. Malfoy I am surprised. You look much older than your
real age.” His eyes told Draco that Ollivander knew that it was an older
version of Draco in the body. He then turned to Harry. “Mr. Potter, I’m not
surprised to see you. I was wondering when you’d be coming to see me.” He
turned back to Draco “I think we’ll find your wand first Mr. Malfoy.” Draco
followed him into the back and he turned around to Draco. “Mr. Malfoy, you are
changing the past.”
“Yes, I am. It’s for the best. The Goddess Luna sent me back. My wand is
mahogany, phoenix feather, 12 inches.” Ollivander got out the wand and Draco
tried it out, just to make sure it was still his wand. It was. Draco walked
back out to where Harry was standing. Harry looked a bit nervous but more
confident than he had earlier that day.
He turned to Draco and took a deep breath. “If you want to go get my gift, you
can leave me here on my own. I’ll be fine.”
Draco looked at Harry and saw his resolve. “Are you sure?” When Harry nodded
Draco smiled. “I’ll be next door so just shout if you need me.” Harry nodded
again and Draco turned to Ollivander. Ollivander nodded, silently telling Draco
that Harry was safe in his hands. Draco nodded, hugged Harry quickly and ran
next door to find a gift for Harry.
Draco had been looking for 5 minutes before he found them. As soon as he saw
the mirrors, he knew they were perfect. They were small, shrunken so that they
each fit on a small chain. They were unbreakable and simply amazing. With the
correct password the mirror would expand and the other would heat up. When the
other was expanded they became two way mirrors. Each could see and talk to the
other. Draco asked the store owner and he said that there were also tracking
and protection spells on each. They could only be taken off by the wearer and
they could not be removed while the wearer was under the Imperius curse.
Draco took them at once. He quickly walked back to Ollivander’s where Harry was
paying for his wand. Ollivander was telling Harry that Voldemort had done great
things, terrible, yes, but great. Harry quickly thanked the man and sighed in
relief when he saw Draco standing outside the door.
“Hey, I was afraid you’d run off.” Draco smiled at Harry. Harry just blushed
and looked down.
“Why would I run away from the first real friend I’ve ever had?” Harry gasped
and hugged Draco tight. “Besides I have your gift.” Harry let Draco go and
again tried to tell him it was unnecessary. “Stop it, I wanted to. Besides I’ll
benefit just as much as you.”
Draco gave Harry the mirrors and explained how they worked. Harry’s grin was
like the sun rising. He immediately put his one and gave the other to Draco.
“You’re the best and only friend I’ve ever had. Now we can stay in touch even
when I’m at the Dursleys’.”
That brought up another point. “Hey, Harry, would you like to come and stay
over at my house later this summer? For a few days maybe? That way I could
teach you some of the basics of magic and our world and we could hang out all
the time.”
Harry’s smile spread from ear to ear. “I’d love that. You think your parents
would let me?”
“We’d love to have you over, Harry.” Both boys turned to see Narcissa behind
them. “We’ll talk to your Aunt and Uncle and see what we can do. Here’s your
gift.” She handed Harry a book which turned out to be amazing. It was a
complete guide to the wizarding world and you could read it like a normal book
or you could ask it a question about anything in the wizarding world and it
would give you a complete and full answer.
Lucius and Hagrid came back from the Owl Emporium with a snowy owl. Harry
couldn’t stop thanking everybody. Soon, though, it was time for Harry to go
home. Draco promised that he and Harry would not only owl but make use of the
mirrors as well. Lucius and Narcissa promised to talk to Harry’s relatives and
make sure he came to stay with the Malfoys for at least 3 days.
Harry and Draco waved goodbye, knowing they would talk soon.

Draco sighed as he paced his room. Yes, things had gone even better than he had
hoped. He lay back on his bed and began to relax when the Goddess Luna
appeared. He scrambled to his feet and bowed. “Thank you Goddess of the Moon,
for giving me the chance to save Harry.”
She smiled and made him stand. “I gave you the opportunity. You gave the
payment. Haakon will not die for some time, so do not worry about that. However
I’m sure you have some questions.”
“Yes. How much of today will I remember?”
“You will remember everything, except your conversation with Ollivander and
your thoughts of the future.”
Draco nodded, pleased. “May I use the crystal to put my memories of today in
there as well?” When the Goddess nodded he did so and handed the crystal back
to her. “Have we changed the future enough?”
Luna sighed. “I don’t know. I can’t see the future, so I don’t know.”
Draco sighed and didn’t acknowledge the Goddess as she left. He got into bed,
exhausted from his day. ‘I changed the future. I have to have. I won’t let
Harry die, not again.’ With that Draco slipped off into an uneasy sleep.

A/N: Hey sorry this took so long, but here it is. I would like to state that
this will not be following Deathly Hallows and is an AU. I began it before the
Deathly Hallows and it will remain ignorant of the book. Anyway, reveiws make
me happy and i post faster. Those who review just might get hints as to what
happens in the story, but i can't give away anything juicy. After all, what
would be the fun of that?

Again, really… Would I be writing fan fiction if I owned Harry Potter? Think
about it.

Chapter 2: Changes at the Dursleys’
The Dues lived in a place that was neither here nor there, a place that was
neither then nor now, nor even in the future. They lived in a pocket of space
that was another dimension really. Time did not exist there, neither did space.
Only the Dues knew how to get to their home and could do so from anywhere. They
appeared where they wished when they went to earth, as well as when they
wished.
The Dues’s home was a rather large castle that looked like it would indeed be
the home of gods. Luna materialized in the main hall, as they all did. They all
agreed that was where they would phase in and out of their home for both
curtsey and convenience. And it was without surprise that Luna met Ventus. He
was leaning on the wall waiting for her to return.
Ventus was tall, about 6”3’. He had very dark brown hair and was devilishly
handsome. His features were those of a young man whom you knew was always
getting into trouble. When she raised an eyebrow he answered her unspoken
question. “I am to escort you to the trial chambers. Sol is trying to have you
punished.”
“Again?”
“Yes, he really seems to take pleasure in annoying you. However,” Ventus’s
emerald eyes darkened, “this time he truly has a reason. What were you thinking
Luna? You broke the Code.”
“You know I had to do it, Ven. The boy would have died. It wasn’t his time.
Something had already disrupted the timeline.” Ventus nodded and led her to the
trial chambers.
In the chamber the others were all there standing in their places in the
circle. There were six white circles on the onyx floor, all surrounding one
gray circle. Luna took her place in the gray circle and turned to each of the
others. First she turned to Terra. Terra had light brown hair that rested
slightly past her shoulders. Her skin was rich and deep, reminding Luna that
Terra was connected to the earth. Terra smiled at Luna, though Luna was on
trial. Terra was kind and sweet, almost never willing to harm anyone. Instead
Terra worked very slowly uprooting the problem as it were.
Next Luna turned to Ventus. His pale skin contrasted the woman next to him
nicely, and they were complete opposites. Terra was loyal and tolerant while
Ventus was impatient and well, not vicious, but certainly not overly kind. Luna
next turned to Ignis and snorted. There was no way you couldn’t tell that Ignis
was the God of Fire. He had bright red hair that was cut short and spiked. His
skin was tanned but his skin tone was not nearly as deep as Terra’s. Ignis was
short tempered, but always fought with his heart. He never thought before
acting and he was not always kind. He had once burned down and entire city
because the villagers praised false gods and had taken to offering a human
sacrifice every ten years or so.
Aqua was next to Ignis and she was pale like Ventus, but a bit darker than him.
Her wheat blonde hair flowed to her waist and she often wore it down. Aqua was
a logical thinker and though things through before acting. Her deep blue eyes
looked at everything piercingly and gave away the truth. Aqua was often a cold
person. She could be kind or emotional but often preferred not to. Next to Aqua
was Luna equal and opposite. Sol.
Luna gave Sol only a glancing look. He was stuck up and quite brutish, if she
did say so herself. Sol had golden blonde hair he was fairly short. It didn’t
curl unlike Luna’s beautiful silver hair and only hung there. Of course even
Luna had to admit that his hair was very attractive as was the rest of him. He
was the epitome of Greek god. His skin was tanned like he lay in the sun
everyday, his muscles large and powerful. His face was something akin to a
model’s face. But of course he was conceited and horribly rude. He thought the
entire world revolved around him.
Finally Luna turned to Vis. Vis was the only one of them who wasn’t young. He
was old and his hair turned gray, he had wrinkles upon his wrinkles and laugh
lines from laughing all the time. Vis may have been old, but he was still in
good spirits. He believed that life, even the life of a god, should be lived
like tomorrow was the last day. He believed that they should spend times with
those they loved and always be happy and laughing. Luna could never hide her
smile when she looked at the old man. She remembered her mortal life,
remembered being adopted by this man when she was but 5. He had taken her in
and treated her like a grandchild.
Of course he later offered to give her immortality, to become a Goddess, to
have control like no other. She had looked at him and asked only one question.
“Will I spend the rest of my immortal life with you?” When he had answered,
yes, that was part of the deal, she would live with him, she had agreed. It was
later that she learned that he would have left that night no matter her answer.
She was glad she had gone with the old man. Besides she liked to help mortals,
even if she wasn’t often allowed to interfere directly.
Her inspection of the Gods and Goddesses took only a few moments. Sol cleared
his throat. “You, Luna, Goddess of the Moon, have violated the Code. You
directly interfered with no less than 3 mortals’ lives and sent them careening
through time. How do you plead to this accusation?”
Luna glared at Sol. “I will tell you what happened myself, I will not simply
plead guilty.” Sol scowled and Luna could have sworn that Vis smiled for a
moment. “I was watching Harry Potter and his friends’ lives when something
suddenly changed. Harry was dying and I knew I had to act. Had Voldemort won
things would have been thrown completely out of balance.”
“What had changed?”
Luna frowned. “I’m not exactly sure. I think it was something small, something
that would have been overlooked. This is disturbing because I only noticed it
during the battle when Harry was killed, but the change had to have occurred
long before that. Something else had disturbed the time stream, and I fear that
we may be in danger.”
Sol laughed. “Why would we be in danger? We are immortal!”
Luna screamed in frustration. Sol had never understood. After Vis had recruited
Luna they had found Ventus, and Terra. Then they had made Sol a God. Sol had
never understood the delicacies of being a god, and always thought they were
above mortals.
“We can still be killed you idiot! We can be murdered and we can be captured.
We can be tortured or maimed, or so many things. When we became part of the
Dues we simply became much more powerful than most mortals.” She picked up a
knife and ran toward him grabbing his arm. She sliced it and he began to bleed.
“Do you not understand? We too can bleed, and we can die, just as any mortal
can!”
She threw the knife to the ground and stalked out of the trial room. She ran
out to the balcony and slumped against the railing, looking at the stars. She
heard someone come up behind her. She turned and saw Ventus. She relaxed and
went back to watching the stars.
“You know, he really had that coming.” Luna laughed for a moment and Ventus
joined her. “I know how you feel I was the second to be found and saw him when
he joined as well. Sol, well… he never truly understood the responsibility that
was being asked of him. He always though he was better than everybody else even
before he Became.”
Ventus chuckled and turned to Luna. “Remember when he first met you?”
Luna snorted. “Of course. He came up to me and asked if I wanted to go into the
back room, and when I refused he simply laughed at me. He thought I was playing
hard to get, when I really wasn’t interested. Of course when he found out that
I was the Moon and he was the Sun he came up to me and assumed that we would be
married. Just because we were the twins of the sky, he thought we were meant to
be together.
“I’ve never laughed harder than that night. Then his reaction was hilarious.”
Ventus laughed, “Ya, he started yelling and ranting about destiny and how you
had to marry him. And then when he grabbed your arm you threw him to the
opposite side of the room and got into his face threatening him.”
Both Luna and Ventus laughed and fell silent as they looked up at the stars.
And neither of them commented when Ventus put his arm around Luna’s waist.
----------~~~~~~~~~~----------
Harry Potter was finally happy. When he had arrived home, the Dursleys had
simply ignored his presence and he had begun to study his books, trying to
memorize them. After Draco had explained so much to him and forgotten about
owls, he realized that if he wanted to be aware of everything in this new
world, he had first better memorize his school books so that he would
understand the basics of magic.
He had diligently applied himself day and night to his studies. During the day
he would study his subjects, and then at night he would study the book from the
Malfoys. Harry sent a message to Draco, realizing the night he got home that
Draco had never told him the password to the mirrors.
When he got a reply from Draco, it was very apologetic and explained that the
password was ‘moonlight.’ Draco couldn’t remember why he had changed the
password to that, but they both agreed it fit for some reason. Two weeks into
August Harry received a letter from the Malfoys and it was addressed to the
Dursleys. Draco had told him to simply give the letters to his relatives and
wait for a reply. Harry headed downstairs and silently gave the letter to his
aunt, knowing somehow that he had not only insulted Vernon, but also shifted
the power of the household.
He turned and saw that Vernon’s face became very red, but he said nothing and
they both knew that Harry had just given his Petunia the power of the
household. Silently Petunia smiled. ‘Finally, that foolish boy has figured it
out. Vernon always held the power because Harry has let him. By giving me the
letter he has made me the most powerful person in the household.’
She read the letter and saw the money, muggle currency thankfully, but didn’t
remove the money from the envelope. Now that she had finally come to terms with
the fact that Harry would always be a wizard, and that he was neither his
mother nor the cause of her death, she could finally change things. Wizards
weren’t completely horrible she supposed, and even if she had had a falling out
with her sister, it didn’t mean that she stopped loving Lily. Harry was her
nephew, her flesh and blood. Things were going to change.
She took one of the bills out and put the envelope on the counter and handed
the letter to Vernon. She made a show of putting away the money. Silently she
scribbled two notes and handed them and the envelope to Harry. Luckily Vernon
was too preoccupied in the letter and Dudley was upstairs, otherwise they may
have noticed that the envelope bulged a bit. When Harry was upstairs he read
the first note, which was to him.
Harry
The letter was asking if you could visit for the next two weeks, they promised
to take you to the station. In return they sent some money to keep us happy. I
have taken a small bit of the money to keep Vernon from getting suspicious. The
rest is yours. Things will be changing here soon, so I expect that you will not
need to, but for now I would advise keeping that safe in case you have to leave
quickly.
Hoping that your year will be exciting,
Aunt Petunia
Harry gaped down at the note and shook his head. He looked in the envelope and
gasped. There had to be at least 2,000 pounds in there. He quickly put the
money in a sock and stuffed in into the bottom of his trunk and read the second
note. It was to the Malfoys telling them that he could attend and giving
details. He quickly sent the letter with Hedwig and activated his mirror. In no
time Draco’s face was filling the screen and smiling.
“So can you come?” Draco’s excitement was barely contained.
“Yep, and you’ll never believe what happened.” When Draco asked Harry explained
the entire ordeal. Afterwards Draco was shocked into silence. “I’m just
grateful that I can go over to your house for two weeks.”
The reminder that Harry would be visiting made Draco remember what he had to
tell Harry. “Ya, we’ll be picking you up tomorrow. We’ll be getting there about
9 am, so pack tonight.”
Harry laughed. “There’s not much to pack, but I will. So how have you been?”
Draco laughed. “Since this morning? Quite fine, nothing bad happened to me. I
didn’t choke on my lunch if that’s what you’re asking.”
Harry blushed. “Shut up you prat.”
Draco only laughed harder and Harry blushed brighter. “Oh, but, Harry, I’m your
prat.” Draco was fluttering his eyelashes. Harry finally laughed, though his
face was still quite flushed. He said goodbye and began to pack, leaving out
only his potions book which he was currently studying and his present from the
Malfoys which he used every night.
He thought hard and finally asked it about his parents. It told him about the
attack of Godric’s Hollow, and their obituaries. There were articles in the
Prophet in which they appeared, and that was all. The book could not tell him
stories about their past, it could not tell him about their lives and how they
had met. It could not tell them whom had been their best friends or even whom
their relatives were.
Resigned to the fact that he would have to find out about them some other way,
Harry closed the book. He put both books in his trunk and went to bed. In the
morning Harry quickly dressed and went downstairs to make breakfast for the
Dursleys. It was early so none of them were yet awake, but Harry was feeling
generous today. He made tea and coffee, fried some eggs and bacon and even some
sausages. He made toast and buttered it, cut open fruits and set the table.
Petunia Dursley came downstairs and saw her nephew making breakfast for her
family quite cheerfully even though they all hated him. Petunia’s eyes watered
and she allowed him to finish before entering. When she came in he turned to
say good morning, but was instead crushed by his aunt. She was hugging him.
Petunia Dursley, hater of all things magic especially wizards, was hugging him!
When she pulled away she looked Harry in the eye. “Even though we have
mistreated you and shown you no love, you quite willingly and happily made
breakfast for us. There is such love within you Harry, never lose that. I swear
to you, you will not be mistreated by my family anymore.”
Harry smiled and only gestured for her to sit down. He went out and got the
newspaper and put it front of Vernon’s place. After eating some breakfast
himself, Harry got up and began to clean the dishes. He was just so happy that
for once he didn’t mind doing things for the Dursleys. He scrubbed all the pots
and pans he had used by hand, humming to himself.
Dudley came downstairs and gasped when he saw that everything he liked for
breakfast was on the table when he looked questioningly at his mother she
smiled and looked at Harry. Dudley finally got the courage to saw something
after he had been sitting for a few moments. “Thank you, Harry.” Harry dropped
the pan he was washing and jerked around to stare open mouthed at Dudley.
“Did you just thank me?”
Dudley flushed in both anger and embarrassment. “Yes, I am quite able to be
polite.”
“I know, but I never expected you to be so towards me.”
Dudley looked down and began loading his plate. “Ya well don’t get used to it.”
Harry smiled even wider and went back to his task eagerly. Vernon finally made
it downstairs. When he saw that breakfast was all set out and that the paper
was already in front of him he simply drank his coffee, cream and just a hint
of sugar, and ate what he wanted. He never questioned who had made it or even
why. He didn’t notice that there was an extra napkin so that he could wipe his
face after his coffee and start on some tea. He never noticed that both were
exactly how he liked them and that all his favorites were on the table.
When the door bell rang Petunia got up and answered it. She invited the guests
into her home. “Harry’ll only be a moment. He’s washing the dishes at the
moment.” A small boy the same age as Harry asked if he could go join Harry.
When Petunia nodded he went to the sink and saw that Harry was washing the
dishes by hand. He was almost done but then Vernon came up and dumped his
dishes into the sink splashing half of the already dry dishes.
Draco rounded on Vernon as he walked away. “Hey, you come back and apologize!”
Vernon stopped dead in his tracks and slowly turned to face the young boy.
“What did you say to me?”
“I told you to apologize. Harry was almost done when you splashed half of the
dry dishes. Now he has to dry them again as well as clean yours.”
Vernon went purple in rage he advanced on the small blonde menacingly. “I WIL
NOT BE INSUTED BY A FREAK IN MY OWN HO-” as he almost reached Draco, Harry ran
in front of him.
“You will not touch him!”
Vernon looked at Harry and backhanded him, knocking Harry to the ground.
Draco’s eyes flashed black in anger. A scream made both turn. Petunia had come
in to see what the yelling was about and had seen Vernon hit Harry. Then she
grabbed a frying pan from next to the stove. She held it up in warning. “Vernon
Dursley you get away from those children! You get out of my house!”
When Vernon only stared at her in shock, Petunia advanced threateningly. “I’m
warning you, get away from them. And leave my house. I will not have a man who
hits innocent children living here!”
When he started walking towards his wife with a glint in his eyes another voice
came from the where the living room connected to the kitchen. “You take another
step towards her and I’ll hex you within an inch of you life.” Surprisingly it
was not Lucius who said this, but Narcissa.
Lucius however stood behind his wife with his wand also raised. “You would do
well to do as they say.”
Vernon looked around and was shocked when he saw Dudley and Draco both trying
to wake Harry. Vernon looked around the room and knew he had lost. He walked to
the back door and slammed it as he left.
Narcissa said something quickly to her husband and quickly went to Harry’s
side. She muttered a few spells and Harry woke up with only a headache. He
quickly looked around and was surprised to see that Vernon was gone. Petunia
quickly turned to Narcissa.
“I know that you helped us and I’m glad for it but you must leave soon. Vernon
will no doubt lie and try to make himself seem the victim. Can you perhaps
create a bruise, or the illusion of one on Dudley’s cheek?”
When she asked this they all looked at her strangely. “We’ll tell them that
Harry left yesterday and that Vernon hit Dudley. That way we can press
charges.”
Dudley looked surprised but nodded. “Make it real so that I won’t have to fake
the pain.”
Narcissa closed her eyes and eventually nodded. She told Lucius to go upstairs
and grab Harry’s truck. She cast the charm and when Lucius returned she led
Petunia off and they quickly conversed. Narcissa then turned to Harry. “Do you
have everything?”
Harry nodded and Lucius took out his stopwatch. “Harry just touch it, you do
the same Draco.” They did as they were told and Harry waved goodbye to his aunt
and cousin. Soon there was the feeling of something pulling his navel, just as
there was a knock at the door.

A/N: Sorry this took so long. My comp has been crashing alot lately. Need a new
